History

The Program
The DGF Post 397 American Legion Baseball program, as we know it today, has evolved into a program for senior high age students from the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (DGF) School District 2164. The western Minnesota communities of Dilworth, Glyndon and Felton became one school district in 1994. Through the years, Dilworth students participated on the Dilworth American Legion team and the Glyndon-Felton students participated on the Glyndon American Legion team. During these days, both teams had their own respective teams and played on their own field in the the towns of Dilworth and Glyndon.

Dilworth American Legion Team 1986

The Glyndon American Legion team last fielded a team in 1986. Since then, students from the Glyndon-Felton school district would participate in American Legion Baseball for Dilworth Green Hill Post 397. The program began officially calling themselves DGF Post 397 in 2002 shortly after the Rebel High School baseball program began. The "naming move" to DGF Post 397 instead of Dilworth Post 397 better reflects the individuals participating in the program, the communities involved and the school district as we know it today. DGF Post 397 calls "Bob Marshall Field" in Dilworth home.

Bob Marshall Field
The present location of the baseball field in Dilworth has been the home to American Legion Baseball since the mid 1970's. The previous ball field was located on the former hotel property, now a "treatment center" on the east side of town along highway 10. The old ball field had to be moved to its present location when the railroad built a hotel for their workers.
